This Saturday I’ll be participating in El Laboratorio del No Hacer, a three-day event at the Blueproject Foundation organised by Christina Schultz. I’ll be presenting my recent work “Welcome, Visitors”. The opening is this Friday June 2 at 19h, everybody welcome.

Este sábado participo en El Laboratorio del No Hacer, un evento de tres días organizado por Christina Schultz que tendrá lugar en la Blueproject Foundation. Estoy presentando mi obra reciente “Welcome, Visitors”. Inauguración el viernes 2 de junio a las 19h, estáis todos invitados.

New Work: “Welcome, Visitors”

A video essay exploring some of the ideas behind the work I’m currently developing. First presented with a live reading at Paratext 15 at Hangar, Centre for Research and Production of Visual Arts, Barcelona, March 22 2017.

Landscape — Painting and the evolution of visual language — the role of technology and science in artistic developments — Dutch landscape painting in the 1600s — the expansion of concepts of space — viral infection — space exploration and the possibility of humans surviving away from Planet Earth — philosophical concepts of landscape in Chinese painting — science fiction — interpretation of our surroundings

Artist talk at Youkobo

I will be holding a public talk with Kadota Mitsumasa today from 17:00 at Youkobo Art Space.  We will be discussing the work in our current exhibitions as well as our shared influences, and will probably drag up some Japanese art history too. All welcome . . .

“San-Kyuu” Artist talk at Youkobo

I’ll be participating in an open talk with painters Kabata Yuuri and Tamaki Naoko at my studio this Monday the 9th. A “Thank You Art” event (ie, “San-Kyuu”, or 3/9 – more info here), we’ll be discussing the daily processes of making art and working in the studio. We’ll also be exhibiting works and there’ll be food and booze, so all are welcome from 17:30 onwards.
